Board election set for Nov. 17
Members of Tri-County Electric Cooperative voted on August 18 to remove the board of trustees and to approve new bylaws for the cooperative. As a result, an election will be held on Nov. 17 to elect a new board.
Qualifications for candidates for the board may be found in the bylaws in Article V, Section 5.02. More information on the August 18 special meeting of the members may be found here.
Candidate applications and petition forms will be available beginning August 24 at the cooperative’s headquarters: 6473 Old State Road, St. Matthews, SC.
Here is the court’s preliminary approval of a settlement between plaintiffs, who had sued the cooperative and the former board of trustees, and the defendants, who are the cooperative and the former board of trustees. It lays out an agreement between plaintiffs and defendants to resolve the case.
Here is a document that will be mailed to all Tri-County Electric Cooperative members alerting them to their rights regarding the settlement and explaining that there will be a hearing to finalize the settlement at some future date.
